Our First Lady

New Mercies Christian Church First Lady Aleana Curney has been blessed with many strong spiritual influences throughout the course of her life. At an early age, while growing up in Columbia, Mississippi, she received her spiritual foundation in Sunday School while simultaneously witnessing God's love manifested in her Grandmother whom she observed in faithful prayer morning and night.

Her Grandmother's selfless act of choosing to raise Mrs. Curney as a small child while encouraging and enabling her parents to continue their college education further exemplified her faith in Christ. Her mother's faith and pursuit of a higher education along with her ongoing encouragement for Mrs. Curney to press towards excellence helped mold her into the First Lady that she is today.

The eldest of three children, she attended Towers High School in Dekalb County, Georgia, and is a proud alumni of Atlanta's historic Spelman College where she received her Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. She was very academically and socially driven in her formative years participating in several sports activities at school, active as Junior Class President, debuted as a debutant and was a recipient of the NAACP Regional ACT-SO award. She pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is a member of the Stone Mountain/Lithonia Alumnae Chapter. She has also been invited on several occasions as a guest speaker, lecturer and panelist sharing her testimony of how choosing to follow God's path can lead to true fulfillment in all areas of life . As an entrepreneur, she has had incredible success as an independent network marketing strategist, motivating and building team leaders to individual success and rising to the ranks of National Vice President.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." - Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
