"And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation." Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” - Acts 2:40-47 (NKJV)
As we look at this passage of scripture we see that the early church had come together as one and was willing to meet each others needs as God provided. As we move into our seventh year here at New Mercies, we must be willing to come together and get back to sharing the love and provisions that exist through Christ Jesus.
It is my belief that if we demonstrate we are willing to come together with a Christ-focused work, God will meet our every need and add as He sees fit to achieve the destiny He has placed on this church body and our lives. It’s our responsibility to come together as one, and do the work that God has called us to--that is to be “A Growing Church, For Growing Christians.” In order to achieve this vision, we must continue to grow not just in numbers, but most importantly in our relationship with Christ.
Forever Christ's,
